12 to 4:30pm
Today Sachin continued painting the gate. He does take a lot of time to paint but he has improved. He still has a problem of wiping the excess paint of the brush. Once he understands the reason behind the act, then, I believe, he will get better. We went for a usual walk. There 2 basic routes we take. When we returned, Sachin did some more painting and then finished the day using his Ipad.

Today, we continued assembling the metal shelf. I did the structural part while he tightened the nuts and bolts using a socket spanner and a screw driver. Then we went for a usual walk. When we returned, Sachin finished assembling the shelf. Sachin finished the day doing his puzzle. 11 to 3:30pm
Sachin worked on making more coasters. Then he continued with the jigsaw puzzle. We went for a walk later in the afternoon as I needed to be at home earlier in the day. 12 to 4:30pm
Today, Sachin helped me assemble a metal shelf. He job was to put the nuts on the bolts, which I had placed and the tighten them. He was absorbed in his work and seemed very interested. He is developing some understanding about assembly and he does enjoy assembly work. Then we went for a usual walk. When we returned, Sachin carried on assembling the shelf. When it started raining, Sachin went inside and finished the day doing his puzzle. He doesn’t need any help when he is doing his puzzle. However, he still needs someone to keep an eye on him, mainly to watch out for seizures and blackouts. While he still has issues with his seizures and blackouts, someone will need to be with him all the time. 11:30 to 4pm
Today, Sachin carried on painting the gate. After a short while, I took him inside as both of us were feeling cold. After a cup of tea, I took the jigsaw puzzle (on a board) inside and let him continue that. Then we went for a usual walk. When we returned, Sachin carried on painting the gate. It wasn’t as cold as earlier. He finished the day doing his puzzle. 12 to 4:30pm
Today, Sachin applied the stain and varnish mixture to the coasters he had made earlier and he did it well enough. He still has a problem of wiping off the excess liquid of the brush. When he finished one side of the coaster, he wanted to do the other side straight away. He doesn’t understand one side has to be dry before flipping it over. Sachin had a minor blackout while doing the 4th coaster. Although he was okay after a minute or so, I let him have a break. Perhaps the fumes may have affected him. I’ll try again tomorrow to see if that was the reason for his blackout. After the break, Sachin made more coasters. Later, Sachin went for his usual neighbourhood walk with both of us (Praveena –my wife). He seems to be happier going for a walk when his mum is there as well. When we returned, Sachin used his Ipad 11: 30 to 4 pm
Today I took Sachin to Bunnings for shopping. We browsed and strolled through the isles, for exercise but at the same time hoping to discover Sachin’s interest. Occasionally, he would stop to look at something but was more interested in driving the shopping trolley. He was particularly interested in the tools and the gardening area. As a result, I bought him a power screw driver (3.6v). I was planning to buy one for him eventually. I also bought a jewellery box- to study its design as I believe that Sachin would be able to make them in future. Another reason was to give Sachin something that he could stain and varnish and for his use it later. He was happy with the shopping trip today, unlike his last visit to Bunnings. He is becoming a typical man, enjoying a trip to a hardware shop. When we returned, Sachin carried on with the jigsaw puzzle. We finished the day with walk around our neighbourhood. 12 to 4:30pm
Today Sachin turned 19. As a birthday present, I let him do his favourite activity – Jigsaw puzzles. He was engaged and enjoyed the activity. So it is safe to assume that he has had a happy birthday. 12 to 4:30pm
Due to the weather, Sachin worked indoors making coasters. He wasn’t very engaged in the task today, perhaps due to the change of his work area. After persisting for a while, he had a break. Then he worked on his jigsaw puzzle. Then I took him to Westfield Mt Druitt to do some window shopping but mainly to do some walking. When we returned, he continued making coasters and this time he was more engaged in the task. 11 to 4:30pm
Sachin continued painting the gate today but when it started raining, I got him work on making coasters. After a break, Sachin worked on the 300 piece puzzle. Later in the afternoon, we went for a walk when it had stopped raining. When we returned, he continued with the puzzle. |
