10 to 3:30pm
Sachin did laundry today. He put the clothes in the machine. Then I gave him the soap powder. I had already set the dial earlier and upon my indication, he turned on the machine. While we waited, I got him to put papers(printed scrap) inside a display folder. The papers were in a stack and he had to put 1 paper in each sleeve. I showed him how to do the first one but after that he didn’t need much help even though he struggled a bit initially. When the machine was ready, I took Sachin to the laundry and opened the lid. He emptied the machine and started putting the clothes on the line without any further instructions. After that, we took a break. Then, we went for our usual walk. When we returned, Sachin continued to put papers in the folders and then finished the day doing his puzzle.

Sachin built a 3-tier shelf today. I had dismantled the shelf earlier. I allowed him some time to figure out the assembly on his own. He struggled with for a while and then I provided some assistance. Once 3 pieces were connected, he didn’t need much help after that. After a break, we went for our usual walk. When we returned, Sachin continued with the shelf assembly. When he finished, he had a break and then continued with his puzzle. 12:30 to 5pm
Sachin helped us finish the retaining wall. His job was to align and set the top layer of blocks that I had intentionally left unaligned. He seemed to be very focussed on the task. The main intent for the task was again to help Sachin feel part of the development. He took his time as usual. After a break, we went for our usual walk. When we returned, Sachin accidently broke (dislodged) our kettle handle. He seemed intent on trying to fix it. It was great to see his initiative. He spent a while trying to figure things and I let him be. When I saw that he may be giving up, I provided slight scaffolding. When was able to fix the handle (with some help) He seemed extremely pleased. I was amazed. He keeps raising the bar. 11:30 to 4pm
Sachin made some coasters today for a Monday routine. He seemed less interested than usual, when doing this task. After a while, I got him peel the paint of in his room. He started this job when he about 5 years old and now we are finally renovating his room Then, we went for our usual walk. When we returned, Sachin took the clothes of the line. Then he finished his day working on his Ipad. 11 to 4pm
Sachin continued helping us build the retaining wall. His tasks included bringing the blocks, sweeping the top of the laid blocks and passing the spirit level. He worked at his own pace and he seemed happier today. It could be due to seeing the retaining wall take shape. We didn’t go for a walk today as we both were tired. He finished the day doing his puzzle. 11:30 to 4pm
Sachin helped me carry retaining wall blocks from the front of the house to the back. He didn’t seem to be enjoying the task but continued at his own pace. A fair bit of the work being done in our home is to develop workspace for him. It is important for me that he feels that he has also contributed. It should be more meaningful when the work is complete. It also provides some sort of physical activity for Sachin. After the break, he worked on his puzzle. We went for our usual walk later in the afternoon. 11 to 3:30pm
Sachin used a wheelbarrow to move soil which I had filled up. He didn’t seem too happy while doing it. Nevertheless, I made him continue. After I had showed him how to tip soil out of the wheelbarrow, he did the next one on his own. He did struggle to completely empty the wheelbarrow and also balancing while driving. He seemed tired after an hour. I gave him a break . After the break, he worked on his puzzle. We didn’t go for our usual walk as I was also tired. We finished his day with a short walk. 12 to 4:30pm
Sachin made some coasters today for a Monday routine. He seemed pleased doing this task. We went for our usual walk. When we returned, Sachin did some gardening. Then he finished his day working on his puzzle. 1:30 to 6pm
Sachin started today applying poly-filler on walls to be painted. He seemed to be still recovering from last night. He had 2 seizures last night, first at 9:20pm and then again around midnight. Based on his manner, I decided to let him do his puzzle. He was more engaged but still less than usual. After a break, I took him for a short walk. When we returned, Sachin continued with the puzzle.. 11 to 3:30pm
Sachin painted the box he had built earlier. His brush work was better than when he painted the gate. He was sitting down while he painted, which may have helped. After a break, we went for our usual walk. When we returned, Sachin sorted out some screws. He is good when he is sorting out such items. He finished his day doing his puzzle. |
