12:15pm – Sachin got ready in his workwear and gloves on his own today. I helped him put his gloves properly – pulling up the finger ends so that it was not too loose. He continued making triangles without assistance but very much at his own pace. i.e. He makes one triangle then relaxes a few minutes then does the next one and so on. Every now and then, I encouraged him keep working (by saying “Banao babba”- meaning keep making). His work was fairly clean as now he was using a brush to glue the sticks.
1:45pm – Toilet break 1:55pm –He made a very nice piece and congratulated him by rubbing his head – my way of telling him well done. He smiled. I also gave him a cup of tea as a reward. He made another piece and then sat and looked towards the sky. I did not interrupt. In about 5 minutes, he drank a bit of tea and kept looking towards the sky and sometimes staring at the floor. He glanced towards me a few times, maybe waiting for me to tell him to make more. I didn’t, waiting to see if he continues on his own. After a while( maybe 15 minutes), he picked a piece of paper(one he uses as placemat to glue the sticks) and turned towards me to hand it over ( he does that when he finishes a piece) but as I reached forward, he let drop to the ground. He started giggling. I didn’t say anything. A couple minutes later, he got up to put his cup next to the teapot – his way of asking for me tea. I did not react. He went back to his seat and started staring at floor. I finally got up and gave him some more tea and that’s when I noticed that the glue had run out. I squirted more glue on glue bowl. He needed to be told to continue as may have thought the session was over. He then continued to work. He seemed to enjoy working at his own pace. 3:25pm – Tea break. 3:45pm – Ipad session – I had Sachin try a painting app. He seem interested so I put the puzzles app on. 4:45pm – end of day. 5:30pm - Took him for a walk out in the park.
