12:15pm – Took Sachin to the work area. Gave him his Workwear and a pair of disposable gloves. Once he was ready, I had him open a pack of paddle pop sticks and hobby craft glue. Then I demonstrated an example of making a triangle by gluing 3 paddle pop sticks. He followed the example and one on his own. He seemed interested and was excited about this change (post school). He continued his work for 90 minutes and made 19 triangles. He needed some assistance and prompting to stay on task. He worked at a leisurely pace. Feedback Very good effort for his first time. He was keen to do this activity. He needs a lot of work in aligning the pieces and using an appropriate amount of glue. 1:45pm – Tea break – Took of his work wear and washed his hands. Went inside the house to have a cup of tea and snacks. 2:05pm – Took Sachin back to his work area. He put on his workwear and continued working with the sticks and glue. He continued on his own. I interrupted him to show him how to use the appropriate amount of glue. He was more cautious with the glue and hence worked more slowly now. He made another 11 triangles in 70mins. He had his mini breaks in between which i allowed. 3:15pm – Pack up and Clean up. I assisted him to move the glued pieces to a table to dry. He packed up the unused sticks and glue in a box. He cleaned and wiped his work bench. Took off his workwear and then washed his hands. 3:30pm – Tea break. 3:45pm – Ipad session – He went to his work bench but this time he didn’t put on workwear (just his school uniform). I introduced an IPAD app (Everyday Jigsaw) to him and he worked on it for an hour. He was deeply engaged. 4:45pm – end of day. No exercise (going for a walk) due to the weather.
